Notes:
Once a record shop in London, The Record Shack is one of Britain's most successful independent labels and the pioneer of high energy dance music. The genre dominated the gay underground, radio, clubs and charts in the early to middle 1980s. Shop owner Jeff Weston teamed up with DJ Ian Levine in putting together the worldwide classic club track "So Many Men, So Little Time" for singer Miquel Brown. Levine was a DJ in London's hottest dance club, Heaven. The two innovators hooked up with Evelyn Thomas to do an anthem for the new sound they created called "High Energy", also a worldwide chart hit. Of late Levine has been mixing records for today's hottest high energy artist Bronski Beat, The Communards and the Pet Shop Boys. These tracks are the best of the early work - The Best Of Record Shack Records. All full length extended versions.
