"A conscious effort was employed in preserving the sound of the original recordings. The songs were recorded in various studios and even living rooms, which explains the varied production values heard. The original master tapes were used whenever possible and no audio enhancing was used. We want them to sound as they did way back when. That's the appeal for me. We sometimes had to use the actual 45's when the masters were lost. We tried to clean them up as best we could, although some surface noise may be present. If I had it my way, I would have left the pops and cracks in to remind us even more of those wonderful days gone by. Remember, these selections were only ever available as 45's."
